Jagdish Bhagwati, economist at the World Bank, says India has changed its approach from taking advice to giving advice.

Jagdish Bhagwati, an Indian-American economist, said on Friday that India's economy has experienced a total transformation. The country is no longer "taking advice" of institutions such as the World Bank, but now "giving it".

"In the past, the World Bank would tell India what to accomplish, but today, India is the one who tells the World Bank how to proceed. "We have entered a completely new era," he stated at the Kautilya Economic Conclave held in Delhi, October

Bhagwati praised Narendra Modi for his leadership. Modi's leadership was praised by Bhagwati, who said that Modi had taken charge of India at the perfect time.

We must pay attention to the leadership of our Prime Minister. India's internal policies and low production quality were holding it back. We were fortunate that PM Modi intervened at the right moment to bring about a change in the entire system.

Bhagwati said that India was full of talented people, but the system required change. He said that the Prime minister has been emphasizing this since the beginning.

Bhagwati recalled a conversation he had with Prime Minister Modi in which he asked what message the PM wanted to send. Modi responded, "I want to build a bus stop, but also for the conductors to treat the poor respectfully." Bhagwati said that this thoughtful viewpoint deeply impressed him. He had never heard anyone express such a thought, not even in Cambridge.

"I asked him (PM Modi), once, what message he was trying to send. The PM responded that he wanted the conductor of the bus to show respect for the poor. It was the first time I heard someone, not from Cambridge, say something like that. This made me warm to him. He said.

Jagdish Bhagwati, the father of India's economic reforms in 1991, is widely regarded as an intellectual. He is an University Professor of Economics and Law at Columbia University, and a Senior Fellowship in International Economics with the Council on Foreign Relations.

Bhagwati is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Order of the Rising Sun (Order of the Rising Sun), Padma Vibhushan (Padma Vibhushan), the Frank Seidman Award for Political Economy and the Freedom Prize of Switzerland.
