Take note, Indian travelers! Germany launches unique experiences you can't miss
The German National Tourist Board is intensifying efforts to tap the rapidly expanding Indian Outbound Travel Market. Strategic initiatives are being launched aimed at strengthening ties between Indian tourists and the tourism industry.
GNTB reports that during a Tuesday press conference held in New Delhi, GNTB CEO Petra Hedorfer spoke about the organization's plans for building on nearly two decades engagement in India. She highlighted the expansion of market specific activities and collaborative program with the German Travel Industry.
Hedorfer stated, "We've been working on the Indian market for over two decades with a sales agent. In 2015, for the first, we launched an India pool, which was extremely successful at supporting the activities by German partners in India. "The number of Indian overnight guests in Germany increased by nearly 40% from 693,000 up to 962,000."
He said, "With the new edition of India Pool and our market-specific activities we are building bridges to the demand for Indian tourists and the tourism offer in Germany." We are organizing a high profile delegation trip next spring, with top managers in the German travel industry. This is the GNTB India Digital Travel Knowledge Tour.
The number of Indians travelling to Germany is on an upward trend, and has increased even more since the Covid-19 epidemic.
In 2023, Indian tourists will account for 826,00 overnight stays in hotels, guesthouses and other accommodation, a 33 percent increase compared to last year. The Indian market is the fastest recovering Asian country for German tourism, with a recovery rate of 86%.
Tourism Economics predicts that Indian tourists will spend 1.6 million nights in Germany each year by the end decade.
IPK International estimates Indian tourists will spend approximately 900 millions euros in Germany by 2023.
The GNTB, as part of its expanded initiative, will host "India Digital Travel Knowledge Tour", from May 4 to 9 2025. This delegation will bring together German travel industry CEOs with Indian tech and travel firms in cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai.
The GNTB also launches targeted campaigns that cater to specific segments in the Indian market. The "Live like a local project" invites Indian influencers from various regions to discover the local customs and tradition of Germany, while sharing their experiences with their followers.
This initiative will include an interactive travel guide that is tailored to the preferences of users, leveraging the high level of digital engagement among Indian tourists.
A dedicated campaign is being run to promote Germany's picturesque venues for Indian weddings. The goal is to attract lavishly organized celebrations.
The GNTB is reintroducing the India Pool in 2025. This will be a collaborative effort between the German travel industry and the GNTB, primarily made up of small- to medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
