Esha Verma, Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter, slams the 'cruel and extortionate' Rs 50 crore defamation lawsuit: ‘Punished for saying truth'

Esha Verma said, when talking about her half brother Rudransh that "I never included a minor in any of my statements".

Esha Verma has clarified her recent comments and videos. She is the stepdaughter Rupali Ganguly. Esha Verma, the stepdaughter of actor Rupali Ganguly, has clarified her comments and videos in recent weeks. She also criticized her father, Aswhin verma. Esha clarified, when speaking about her half brother Rudransh that "she never involved a child". Esha said in her lengthy note that this would be her final statement about the matter.

Esha wrote in her statement: "Hello everyone, I am Esha Verma and earlier this week, I took the difficult decision to tell my story about my father and growing up. This decision attracted widespread attention on social media. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done. But it has also been a pivotal moment in my life. It brought me clarity, peace and freedom from years of silence. "I was aware of the impact this would have on me, but also on my family and friends. I treated it with the greatest care."

Esha said she had never intended to harm anyone. "For 24 Years, I felt trapped by a reality that I could not escape. My way to find freedom and justice was by sharing my experiences. It was never my intention to harm anyone, but rather to bring to light experiences that have shaped me. By doing so, my hope was to help others who may be going through similar experiences, particularly when it comes down to family dynamics. "As an American citizen, it is my right and I have exercised that right," she said.

She also criticized Rupali, and her father Ashwin. "To make a point, a child shouldn't be punished because they speak their truth. Despite being an adult, I'm still my father’s child. Their response to my comment was shocking, cruel and showed their true character. Esha said that I wasn't just an anonymous person speaking out, but someone directly affected by their family.

Esha remembered how she had been criticised once for her appearance during a photoshoot. "I do not have any professional connections to Bollywood or Indian entertainment, nor have i attended or taken part in professional photoshoots or auditions in India. In 2017, someone who I had mentioned in my story made comments about my appearance during a photoshoot. These remarks affected my self-esteem deeply as a young woman, but I have worked hard to rebuild it and grow since then. "I want to encourage people to celebrate their unique features, and to accept the traits that have been passed down from generation to generation. They are what make us who we really are," she said.

Esha speaks about Rudransh: "I never included a minor in any of my statements." What I said was true: I found out about a marriage on February 6, 2013, and discovered later on August 25, 2013 that they had a baby. Media published any additional interpretations without my consent or input. "I only addressed two people directly and spoke about my personal experiences."

After posting my last statement which was based on my own personal experiences , I decided to archive it 48 hours later and deactivate some platforms. It was not because I was afraid, but rather I wanted to keep my peace and concentrate on the moment. This is my final statement in this matter. This statement has only one purpose: to clear up any misconceptions or uncertainties about my story and its responses. This statement is not meant to provoke further debate on this issue. In the future, I will refrain from participating in interviews, discussions or comments about this issue. "My focus is now on healing, rebuilding and embracing the new chapter of my own life," she added.

"The last few weeks were overwhelming. I took the necessary step back in order to recharge myself and my family. I've come to realize that family isn't always defined by blood, but rather by the love and support of those who stand by you. I'm ready to leave this behind, with dignity and peace. This experience was incredibly difficult, but also reminded of my strength, and resilience. I am excited to welcome this new chapter in peace, dignity and authenticity with those who matter most to me. Let's put this behind us and work together to create a brighter future. "Thank you for standing by me," she concluded.

Esha criticised Rupali in an Instagram video. Ashwin sent Esha a defamation letter for Rs 50 crore. Esha then deleted the video, and her account was made private. Rupali's attorney recently stated that Esha has yet to respond to notice.

They don't mention Bumrah. The focus was all on Virat Sharma ...': Hussain about the world's greatest bowler

Jasprit Bumrah nearly single-handedly swung the first Test in India's favor against Australia. Hussain claimed that he wasn't discussed as much by the media as Kohli or Rohit.

JaspritBumrah confirmed his status as one of the world's best bowlers with an incredible performance during India's 295 run win over Australia at the first test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Former England captain Nasser Hassain said he was glad that he did not have to play against Bumrah.

Hussain stated that he wondered why Bumrah wasn't mentioned as much in the buildup to the match. India's batting line-up was the main talking point, especially after New Zealand humiliated them in a series at home.

"He has the slower ball, the Yorker, the Bouncer... Before the game I thought, as he was giving the press conference, I was watching. I noticed that the entire focus was on Kohli and Rohit Sharma's absence, the balance of the Indian team, Steve Smith and whether these great players would get runs. I was thinking, "They don't talk much about Bumrah." It could be (because) Bumrah is a pitcher. Hussain said on Sky Sports Cricket that "batters are highlighted much more".

Bumrah's 5/30 figures, while he was the captain of the visitors in Rohit’s absence, helped them to get back into the game. Australia was all out for just 104. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi jaiswal both scored centuries, and a 201-run opening stand between KL Rahul and the former helped India set Australia a massive target of 534. Bumrah claimed three wickets when Australia was all out for 238, a total of 534.

Bumrah has a career average of 20,06, which is second best among all bowlers with at least 150 test wickets. His average is actually the highest among all bowlers who have played in a Test match since the Second World War. Only the English legend Sydney Barnes (who played between 1901-1914) has surpassed him.

Barnes has a record of 189 wickets in 27 Test matches at an average 16.43. Barnes' first-class records are even more impressive - 719 bowlings in 133 games at an average that is hard to believe - 17.09. Bumrah has 181 wickets in 41 Tests, with an average of 20.06. Bumrah has 181 wickets in 41 Tests, with an average of 20.06.

"Bumrah is right up there with Sydney Barnes, isn't it? It is amazing that he has consistently scored under 20 for a very long time. Hussain said, "He is the world's best bowler of all formats."

Maharashtra CM suspense ends today? BJP, firm on Devendra Fadnavis's name, says no to Bihar formula

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shindre resigned as a constitutional requirement, but the suspense about the CM's position continued.

Maharashtra CM News: Despite intense negotiations between the Mahayuti Alliance on who will take the top position in Maharashtra – Devendra Fadnavis, or Eknath Shindel – the Bharatiya Janata Party has indicated that it is not possible to replicate the Bihar formula in order to obtain the chief ministership of the state.

The Maharashtra chief Minister Eknath Shindre resignedon Tuesday as a constitutional requirement, but the suspense about the CM post continued.

Prem Shukla, BJP's national spokesperson, told HT: "Firstly, it was announced that Nitish Kumra would be the new CM before the elections. In Maharashtra there was no commitment to the shiv Sena. Second, we formed a coalition with Janata Dal-United in Bihar to allow the BJP to gain a foothold in the state. This did not occur. There is no way to replicate the same thing in Maharashtra."

Prem Shukla said that the Maharashtra model is not the same as Bihar's. In Maharashtra, such an engagement is not justified as our organisational base and leadership are stronger. Above all, the Party never committed to continue with Eknath as CM following the elections. The top leadership insisted throughout the election that a CM decision would be based solely on the results of the elections.

Raosaheb Danve, a former union minister and BJP election coordinator, refuted claims by some Sena leaders that Shinde had been promised the top position before the election. The process of selecting the CM is underway. He said that two parties had already chosen their legislative leaders and the BJP would do so soon.

Some BJP leaders have said that the Shiv Sena's push to get Shinde the position has not been well received by the central leadership. The party was informed of this and a Sena-led show of force planned for Tuesday morning at Varsha was cancelled. Shinde was informed by the BJP that the CM post would be retained by his party, according to a Sena leader.

World Chess Championship - How Ding Liren stunned Gukesh in the first game with black pieces at the "fishtank"

World Chess Championship :D Gukesh buried his face into his hands, unable accept how quickly the momentum shifted during the first match of the World Chess Championship versus Ding Liren.

The World Chess Championship started with promise. The 18-year old strutted into the arena, nicknamed "the fishtank", a soundproof room with mirror glass to prevent players from hearing outside noises or looking out. He exuded the confidence of a youngster. He took control of the game in just a few moves. The day ended in a mad dash to avoid losing time, and then with a resignation of white pieces after 42 moves.

Ding Liren tried to surprise him by using the French Defence. It was like a Hail Mary, playing too early in a World Chess Championship.

But Ding was not without his reasons. "Because this was his first match, I thought he would be nervous at the beginning. Ding said, "I tried to play a game that I hadn't played in a while. The Chinese GM used the French Defence against Ian Nepomniachtchi in a loss.

Gukesh was able to deal with Ding Liren’s trick without any difficulty. Ding spent 27 minutes considering his move after the seventh. It was strange to have to think for so long and hard, when it was he who was trying to take the initiative.

Gukesh was already in a significant lead on the clock by the time Ding had made his seventh move. He spent less than a minute making seven moves. Ding used over half an hour. "I clearly surprised him in his opening. Gukesh said later, "I was playing some really good chess."

Caution is advised

Gukesh was reckless on the 10th move. His pawn in the g-file raced to g4 abandoning any plan to protect his king on the corner of the king's side. Plan was to push Ding's pawn in the e-file with a quick f5 pawn move. Ding had already lost 48 minutes by this point.

The first games in the World Chess Championship should be tepid draws. This is a chance to gauge the current confidence and form of your opponent. Grandmasters will throw a few blows to test the opponent's jaw, just like prize fighters.

Not Gukesh. He chose to enter the game without his guard up, daring his adversary to throw a Haymaker. This game looks already complicated. It's a little out of control. It was too much for a Game 1", said Xie, a former Chinese women's champion who was in Singapore to watch the event.

The situation was about to become more complex. Gukesh let Ding's Knight plant itself on b2, allowing it to create mayhem in his back ranks. Ding's Queen jumped onto d3, next to Gukesh, on the 21st Move. However, the knight on the b2 protected her. Gukesh committed a grave error at that point, as he retreated his queen from e1 to d3, just after slipping behind the clock in the game for the first.

This move forced his most powerful piece to a corner. Ding's pieces began to smell blood when they were in the 'fishtank. A rook moved to attack an unprotected knight. A bishop scurried past Gukesh’s defensive line. Ding's pieces took positions to launch a coordinated attack on Gukesh king.

Gukesh had already scrambled by the time he made his 33rd move. To avoid running out of time, he needed to make seven moves within 45 seconds. He was able to make his 40th move in the last second of the clock. He had to give up two moves later because Ding already had three pawns. China's world champion leads the best of 14 contest 1-0.

Ding has now won two classical games against Gukesh. Both with black pieces.

It is the first match since the 2010 World Chess Championship that has finished with a winner. Gukesh may find some comfort in the world championship of 14 years ago. Viswanathan, his mentor, had lost the opening game to Veselin Topolalov. Anand won the title despite this. Gukesh will now try to follow in the footsteps of Anand, after following his example for many years.

Maharashtra govt. formation: BJP to consult Sena and NCP about CM, as party backs Devendra Fadnavis

The BJP has convened a New Delhi meeting with Shinde Fadnavis Pawar in order to discuss the details of power sharing and the composition of the cabinet. After the meeting, an announcement is expected.

According to sources within the party, Devendra Fadnavis, BJP, appeared to be in the lead for the position of Chief Minister, with the Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shind and NCP’s Ajit pawar serving as Deputy Chief Minsters.

Sources in the BJP state claimed that the party leadership in Delhi cleared the name Fadnavis to be CM. However, a Shiv Sena source said: "There was no consultation with our party on making Fadnavis CM. Our party hasn't agreed on a name for CM."

A Shiv Sena functionary said that Shinde was "still on the table" and there had been no decision made about the CM position. The functionary indicated that the party was not in a hurry to relinquish the position easily. "Talks are underway... There will be several rounds of discussion before the name is announced." It could take some time."

The BJP has convened a New Delhi meeting with Shinde Fadnavis Pawar in order to discuss the details of power sharing and the composition of the cabinet. After the meeting, an announcement is expected.

It is reported that the BJP leadership assured its allies it would do its best to accommodate their concerns while maintaining its own interests.

The leadership doesn't want to anger Shinde, who was the Mahayuti Chief minister during the campaign for the Assembly elections. The BJP wants to persuade Shinde to accept their choice.

It is understood that the leadership wants Shinde, to suggest Fadnavis. The BJP must maintain the image of a friendly coalition leader, a BJP official said.

BJP leaders cited the mandate where the party won 132 of the 288 members in the House, 13 seats short of a majority. Shinde, they feel, would be a weak CM if he took up the position.

BJP leaders cited the fact that the party only won 132 of the 288 seats in the House, 13 short of a majoritarian majority. Shinde, they feel, would be a weak CM if he took up the position.

A second source claimed that the Sena could receive around 12 ministerial posts and some important portfolios. The NCP may also receive around 10 ministerial positions.

In Maharashtra, the maximum number of ministers that can be in the Council of Ministers is 43. This includes the Chief Minister. The BJP will likely keep 21 ministerial berths to itself.

Sources indicated that the four top portfolios, Home, Finance, Urban Development and Revenue, that the BJP wanted to retain, would be shared now with alliance partners.

Party insiders have said that the BJP may insist on Finance and Home. Negotiations on portfolios and ministerial positions will continue.

Shiv Sena believes, however, that if Shinde's CM position is denied, Uddhav and his party would have the opportunity to take on Fadnavis, and the BJP. The Uddhav group will accuse them of using Shiv Sena symbol and name to gain power, and then abandoning it. Source: "It may well turn into a BJP vs Maharashtra battle."

Sena's arsenal also includes the consolidation of Maratha vote. The Sena says that if Shinde continues as CM the BJP would generate goodwill from the community – the Sena argument being that Shinde was the leader who “demolished” the Congress and prevented them from securing Maratha vote. The party also reminds the BJP of the Shinde government’s welfare measures and “good governance”.

Some BJP members do not dismiss the arguments of the Shinde group outright. These leaders warn that "any attempt to marginalize Shinde may affect the BJP’s chances in Maharashtra's local body elections".

Trudeau acknowledges Canada's immigration mistakes: Could have turned off the faucets faster

Reased immigration in order to boost the labour market following the Covid-19 pandemic, and to avoid a recession. He claimed that some "bad actors", however, had manipulated the schemes to make money.

Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister, acknowledged that his government should have taken action sooner to fix flaws with immigration programmes. He cited "bad actors" who exploited the system in order to justify substantial reductions in permanent and temporary resident admittances.

Trudeau made his admission in a YouTube video that lasted seven minutes and detailed the changes to immigration policy, as well as why Trudeau decided to implement them.

Trudeau stated that Canada increased immigration following the Covid-19 pandemic to boost the labour market and stave-off a recession. He noted that some entities have manipulated these programs for financial gain.

Some saw it as a way to make money, or game the system. Trudeau stated in the video that "we saw way too many big corporations doing this."

He also criticized colleges and universities that use international student programs as a way to boost revenue, and scammers who prey on vulnerable immigrants by making false promises of citizenship.

Trudeau said, "Looking back at the past, we could have done more as a team to turn off the taps sooner when the boom after the pandemic cooled down and businesses didn't need the extra labour."

The new immigration program will reduce the number of permanent resident admitted to Canada. It is aiming for 395,000 by 2025, a drop of nearly 20% from the 485,000 anticipated this year. Temporary immigrants will also be reduced, as well, to just 446,000 per year by 2025-2026 and 17,400 by 2027. This is a nearly 20 percent drop from the 485,000 expected this year.

Canada has also discontinued the SDS (fast-track study visa program) in a major policy change. This is a blow for international students from India, which is currently the largest source of students studying abroad in Canada with 427,000 Indians enrolled.

Trudeau said that the cuts were necessary in order to deal with Canada's housing crises and cost of living issues. He said that the goal was to stabilize population growth until housing stocks caught up. Then, he would consider increasing immigration rates again.

Trudeau’s Liberal government has been under increasing pressure from the public and politicians over immigration, as it trails in polls before the election of 2025. Some people have linked the rising immigration rate to inflation and a shortage of affordable housing.

The public opinion polls show a growing skepticism towards Canada's immigration policy, which was once the hallmark of Canada's global reputation as a welcoming country. The number of anti-migrant attacks and rhetoric has also increased.

According to the Canadian government, it is estimated that immigration reductions will reduce Canada's housing shortage by 670,000 units between 2027 and 2027.

The rise of women fund managers in India is a growing trend, but they are still a rare breed.

They are not bulls or bears but certainly "queens" in the stock market. These women have carved out new careers, starting as investment managers, analysts or marketing grunts. In a world dominated by men, they worked their way to the top to become fund managers, heads of broking firms, or even boards on stock exchanges.

It's about time too. The National Stock Exchange (which has 10 million investors registered) announced in August that 1 in 5 investors are women. Morningstar India is an investment research company that says the number of female fund managers has increased from 18 in 2017 (the year Morningstar started keeping records) to 42 in 2023. This number is small (only 9% of 473 fund managers), but they managed Rs 6.66 lakhs crores of assets in January 2024.

Deena Mehta (63), Managing Director at Asit C Mehta Investment Intermediates says: "It's ironic that Laxmi, [the Hindu god of wealth, prosperity and fortune] and Saraswati, [the Hindu deity of music, art, wisdom, and learning] are both women. It's time we busted the myth that men are only capable of handling financial planning and investment management.

Mehta along with other women such as Amisha vora, Priti rathi gupta Devina Mehra Lakshmi Iyer and Radhika gupta demolish myths to the left and right, despite the normal hurdles that all women face, including taking care of the kids and managing their home.

Imagine yourself as a stock broker, glued to your computer screens at work. Your child missed school at home because of a high fever. You know that your wife will take care of him. Imagine this: you, dear mommy, are in front of trading screens while your husband is at his desk... and your son is with your in-laws. Should you call home every 15 minutes or so? No. Mehta's advice is focused. She entered the stock market to escape an unfulfilling finance job in a blue-chip manufacturing company and became the first female president of the BSE. She encourages women to set clear priorities. If you have a sick child, you must give your 100% to the job. It would be useless to call home every 15 minutes while you are at work.

Lakshmi Iyer admits it's hard to stay away from guilt when you know that your child is waiting at home.

Iyer, 48 years old, started as a Research Analyst after completing her MBA at the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. She said she was a maths and language lover in school, and fell in love with finance when she attended NMIMS. She would handle the accounting at college events and be the treasurer.

Iyer has worked for the Kotak Group since 1997. She says there were no regulations on market timings at that time, and managing work and her family was difficult.

She rejects the phrase "work-life" balance. Iyer says that it's all about prioritising things at the right times. "I haven't missed a single PTM (parent-teacher meetings).

She stayed on track because of her passion for her job and some scheduling juggling. "Even though I was in a minority in the world of finance, I always reminded myself that my passion kept me going."

Iyer handled more than Rs. 1 lakh crore in assets at Kotak Asset Management Company before moving to the investment advisory business.

Devina Mehra is the Chairperson and Managing director of First Global Wealth Management. She says that the overall picture could use some tweaking. She says that before any workplace changes can be made, the need for change must first occur at the level of the family and the society.

Mehra, a gold medalist from IIM Ahmedabad was the sole woman in Citibank's investment banking. She can now teach fund managers some things with her portfolio strategy. First Global's India Multi-Asset Fund and The India Super 50 delivered annualised returns to high-net-worth investors of 19,76% and 27,84% since their inception in February 2019.

Mehra claims that her parents did not discriminate between daughters and sons. She has twin brothers who are five years older. Both brothers are in the same profession as her.

She saw at work that women who were working did not take part in family finances or investments, as they felt too overwhelmed with the demands of a full-time office job and a household.

Amisha Vora is the Chairperson and Managing director of Prabhudas Lilladher Group, a financial services company. She learned to deal with pressure at a young age: she was a chartered accountant by 21. Her father, a banker, encouraged her to emulate her uncle Nalin who owned a broking company called NVS Broking. In 1998, she was hired as a Research Analyst by JM Financial's Founder and Chairman, Nimesh kampani. She joined PL Group in 1998 as Vice President of FII Sales.

The 55-year old has over the years managed different aspects of the business. He has scaled operations and diversified offerings, as well as established robust systems.

The PL Group serves more than 160,000 clients across more than 200 locations. This includes corporates, institutions and family offices as well as HNIs and retail clients.

Vora says that the road was not an easy one, especially after her marriage. She found it difficult to keep up with market cycles, understand diverse business models, and analyse balance sheets.

The biggest challenge facing working women is balancing work and family obligations.

"Women must navigate both the professional and private spheres with equal devotion. I never asked for special treatment or favors, but instead focused on professionalism. If I expect equal respect, I do equal work," Vora says.

In 2012, she took on the responsibility of managing PL’s retail business alongside the institution business. It was a steep learning process, but I adapted quickly by creating strong processes, implementing India’s first eKYC and training my staff to give responsible financial advice. This helped us to grow our business by tenfold over a decade."

Vora encourages woman to take charge of managing their personal and family wealth. She says that the goal is to empower women with financial confidence so they can make informed decisions and build their wealth.

Priti Rathi, the founder of Lxme has more than two decades experience in financial services. She has helped over a million women improve their financial knowledge and leverage their savings.

She began very young. At 16, her father asked that she help him manage the family portfolio. This experience sparked her passion. She then interned at her uncle's stockbroker firm and completed her Bachelor of Commerce. In 2003-04, she received her post-graduation degree from the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.

She then set up and managed a commodity desk in 2004-2015 for her husband. She then earned an MBA at Harvard Business School. She also completed a Postgraduate Programme in Family-Managed Business at SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.

She says, "The commodity desk is part of the Anand Rathi Group which has now become Anand Rathi Commodities." She was asked to create a business strategy in 2017 while she was still at Harvard.

Lxme was India's first financial and investment platform for women. It's called Laxmi. She will launch it in 2020.

She says: "There was a hole in the market. There was no platform that helped women make informed decisions about investing. Many people doubted women's ability to engage in finance. "This scepticism was the biggest challenge I faced."

She often encountered clients who would not acknowledge her and preferred to speak with her male colleagues. "These experiences, although challenging, have made me stronger and more driven. "I've made a lot of progress in the financial industry, an industry where men have always been dominant," says she.

She believes every challenge offers an opportunity to improve and learn. Priti Rathi says that strategic thinking and problem solving skills have been crucial in helping her overcome challenges. Anand Rathi manages assets worth $7 billion, while Lxme is a new venture she launched in mid-2020 with an AUM exceeding Rs 30 crore.

She believes women should aim for work-life balance, not achieve it. She has a simple rule: Be 100% present, no matter what role you are playing. She describes her day as "a day with a list of things to do that I ensure I accomplish throughout the day." I think happiness is more important than perfection and that balance comes from the mind, not your time management. "As long as I can maintain work-life balance, I'm on the right path."

Mehta remembers her husband Asit suggesting that she join the stock market. In 1985, she joined the stock exchange and was surprised to find that she was the sole woman in the trading room. The ring in those days was noisy and chaotic. Before computers, brokers and jobbers would shout orders and use their own sign language.

People in my organization tried to discourage me from joining the trading ring. "But it became a matter of prestige," she says.

Mehta holds a degree in Stock Exchange Law and Securities Law, a Master's in Management Studies in Financial (MMS), as well as an Associate Chartered Accountant. She was initially treated with a great deal of respect and affection by the male fraternity. This changed after she decided to run for the position of exchange president. She said, "Men feel comfortable when we are peers, but as soon as you are first among equals swords will be drawn."

She was the first woman to be elected president of an exchange after receiving the most votes of any candidate.

DBS Bank India's study 'Women and Finance,' conducted in partnership CRISIL found that 47% women make their own financial decisions. Working women are risk-averse, and invest 51% of their money in fixed deposit and savings accounts. They also put 15% in mutual fund, 10% in real property, and 16% in gold.

Iyer believes that financial independence for women is non-negotiable and that they must be in charge of their finances. Financial education is the best way to achieve this.

Mehra believes that women should educate themselves through formal courses, books, or videos. Women who rely on others to make investments for them should ask questions. Mehra advises women to never think they will appear foolish if they ask their advisors and intermediaries for clarifications.

Women are better at investing than men because they have a disciplined approach, and their risk-averse nature can lead to smart, sustainable investments.

Priti Rathi says: "Read and learn about other women's financial planning journeys. Ask them questions. Start small. But start with an SIP." A systematic investment plan (SIP) allows you to save regularly into a mutual fund.

According to data, women are slowly becoming more active in mutual funds. According to the Association of Mutual Funds of India, the percentage of women's assets in the industry has increased from 15% in March 2017, to almost 21% by December 2023. The growth rate is higher in the hinterland compared to urban centres.

Radhika Gupta is the CEO and MD at Edelweiss Mutual Fund. She says: "More young women are interested in managing their money. "Indian women are amazing savers. "The transformation from saving into investment is taking place."

Gupta says that women who have the basic financial literacy and work with financial advisors can become financially independent.

Jasprit Bumrah to be the new captain? India faces selection dilemma for Perth Test

The Indian team management is facing a difficult selection dilemma ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy first test against Australia. Shubman's thumb injury and the uncertainty surrounding Rohit's absence from the Perth Test because of family commitments has left them with some doubts. In Rohit's absence, Jasprit Bhumrah will likely lead India. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal are set to open the innings, while Abhimanyu Eswaran and Devdutt Patdikkal, who have been retained as backups, could be a contender for the third spot. 3 spot.

BUMRAH to lead in ROHIT's absence

India is without Rohit Sharma in the first test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting on November 22 at Optus Stadium, Perth. Rohit Sajdeh, who welcomed their second child on Friday with his wife Ritika, will be joining the squad for the second Test, which is a pink ball game starting December 6 in Adelaide. As confirmed by Gautam Gambhir, Jasprit Bhumrah, the pace spearhead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy first test match will be the captain in his absence.

Rohit informed BCCI and the team management of his possible inability to travel for the first match and did not join the Indian squad on the five-match tour. Bumrah, known for his fast bowling, is leading a team that has multiple absentees including Shubman Gil due to a thumb problem. KL Rahul has recovered from an elbow injury he sustained during an intra-squad game. He will now open the batting for India.

SHUBMAN OUT - TWO SPOTS AVAILABLE

Shubman Gil will miss the first test in Perth starting November 22 after breaking his left thumb at the WACA during an intra-squad game. Gill's availability to play in the second Test, which begins on December 6, is uncertain, despite the minor injury. In the absence of Gill, and with Rohit Sharma unavailable for the first match in the series, India will have to rethink its top-order lineup. Yashasvi is likely to replace KL Rahul, while a new No. The finalization of the No. 3 is still pending.

India is in a pickle ahead of the Perth Test, as Shubman's injury to his thumb and Rohit's absence have created two vacancies. Yashasvi jaiswal will likely retain the opening position, with KL Rahul or Abhimanyu easwaran the two frontrunners for the second. Rahul is likely to start, as he has recovered from the elbow injury he sustained during a practice match. If Easwaran was selected instead, Rahul would be able to slot into No. 3. Devdutt Padikkal is a reserve batsman from the shadow tour and remains in the squad to provide additional cover.

RAHUL IS FIT TO TEST PERTH

KL Rahul's extended net session on the Sunday has dispelled any fitness concerns that India may have had ahead of their first Test match against Australia. Rahul, who suffered an elbow injury during an intrasquad match on Friday and was forced to withdraw from the game due to a fractured thumb, is now available after Shubman Gil's absence. The management is likely to pair the experienced Rahul at the top with Yashasvi, replacing Rohit Sharma who will only be joining the squad for the second test in Adelaide.

Rahul appeared to be at ease during his three-hour net sessions, batting without discomfort and taking part in all drills. In a BCCI video, he spoke of his confidence. "I made a bad mistake on the first day of the match. I'm feeling good and getting ready for my first game. "I'm looking forward to the series," Rahul said. Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the tour, had hinted earlier at Rahul's elevation up the order. This further solidified his position as Rohit's preferred opener.

The team physio Kamlesh jain confirmed Rahul’s positive response to the treatment and ensured his availability for Perth Test, which begins on November 22. Rahul's return stabilizes India's opening combination, and gives them crucial experience as they prepare to face a difficult series opener in Australia on tracks that are suited for fast-paced play.

OPENING AND NUMBER 3?

India will have to make key decisions about the top order in the first Test match against Australia. KL Rahul is one of three options, along with Abhimanyu Eswaran and Devdutt Padikkal. Rahul is still a contender for the first Test against Australia despite his elbow injury. He opened both in a four-day match against Australia A as well as a training simulation at the WACA. Rahul, who was struck by a rising delivery delivered by Prasidh on Friday, returned to the nets Sunday and should be ready.

Abhimanyu, who had just completed an impressive domestic season, which included four centuries in a row, failed to reproduce his form against Australia A, scoring 0, 17, 7 and 12. It is not clear if he's ready for the pace. Padikkal is reportedly a candidate to replace No. The opening Test will be played at No. 3. The left-hander who made a promising debut in England earlier this season, managed scores of 36. 88. 26, and 1. Padikkal, despite this, offers stability and a left-right combination in the middle order. He could be a good choice for a pivotal role.

India may also want to consider Abhimanyu Eswaran as an opener, despite the fact that his numbers were not impressive in the A-games on the Australian Tour. Easwaran showed some promise during the simulation games played at the WACA. This could work to his advantage. If Easwaran was given the opening slot along with Yashasvi, this would allow KL Rahul bat at No. The No. 3 position would be a stable and experienced one, bringing stability and experience to the most important batting order position.

INDIA WOULD NOT WANT TO DISTURB THE POSITION OF VIRAT

Virat Kohli has been disappointing in red ball cricket, as evidenced by his modest average of 22,72 after only six Tests. Kohli's struggles were most evident during the recent series at home against New Zealand. He failed to score a hundred and scored less than 100 runs in all three matches. Some experts have questioned his place in India's Test lineup due to his inconsistency. Kohli, however, remains an important part of India's bat order, due to his vast experience and past success, despite recent challenges.

India's preparations for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia have highlighted Kohli’s struggles against short-pitched deliveries. Kohli's discomfort with short-pitched bowling was highlighted during a three-day simulation match. He was dismissed for only 15 runs in the first innings and remained unbeaten at 30 in the second. Kohli's poor performance in the New Zealand series at home has added to the pressure, but India is still reluctant to move him. 4. The management of the team would like to give Kohli the consistency he needs in his preferred batting position, in hopes that it will help him recover form.

Kohli's confidence is already low after a series of poor scores. He could be further undermined by changing his position in the batting line-up. The No. Since years, Kohli has enjoyed the No. 4 position. Shifting him could have unintended consequences and disrupt his rhythm. The Indian team will likely keep Kohli in his current position, given the importance of Kohli's experience in the middle-order, particularly in high-stakes tests like the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian team would likely choose to keep Kohli at No. 4, as it gives him the best opportunity to rediscover form without having to adjust to a different batting position.

DHRUV OR SARFARAZ NEXT TO NO.6

Dhruv jurel is making a compelling case to be included in India's playing team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Jurel has a good chance of making the playing XI for India's Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with Shubman Gill out because of a thumb injury. KL Rahul is also still unsure about his fitness. The wicketkeeper/batsman impressed recently in India A's 2nd match against Australia A. He scored the most runs in both innings, with 80 from 186 balls for the first and then 68 off 122 balls for the second. Jurel's resilience, and his ability to perform in a pressure situation, stood out despite India A's defeat. This shows that he is ready for a larger challenge.

Jurel showed his potential in his Test debut earlier this year against England. He scored 90 runs in the first innings, and led India to victory by scoring an unbeaten score of 39. His performances have built up his reputation as an experienced player who can handle big moments. With the first Test against Australia approaching fast, his good form has made fans hopeful that he will be included.

The batting line-up is in flux and Jurel may be shifted to the No. Sarfaraz, who has had trouble with short pitches in recent nets, will be moved up to the No.6 position. Sarfaraz Khan's inability to face the short ball and his frustration at not being able to get out for a cut shot have raised concerns about his readiness for the Australian conditions. Jurel, on the other hand, has been in excellent form recently and his temperament makes him a contender for the position. He is a good option for India's Middle Order for the First Test.

NITISH LIKELY MAKE DEBUT ON BOUNCY PITCH PERTH

The Optus Stadium curator confirmed that the pitch was prepared for the first Test to provide "good bounce and speed," as Perth is known for its fiery, quick surfaces. McDonald, speaking to ESPNcricinfo said, "We are setting ourselves up for a really good pace, bounce and carry." The pitch will have around 10 millimeters live grass. This extra grass will increase speed and make it difficult for batsmen. It also provides the perfect surface for Australia's pace attacks, led by Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.

Both teams' fast bowling units will look to take advantage of the bounce. McDonald stated that both bowling units were very quick last year and he hopes for the same again this year. He believes that skilled batsmen will be able to take advantage of the conditions. However, he is confident that both teams will remain on their toes due the the pace and the live grass.

Nitish Reddy, an all-rounder from India, is expected to win his first Test cap in Friday's match in Perth. Reddy is expected to be the fourth bowler in the Indian team, as Optus Stadium, Perth, will offer plenty of bounce and carry. This makes him a perfect fit for the fast-bowling department.

Bumrah will be the vice-captain in Rohit's absence. Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Raa, Aakashdeep, and Prasidh Kumar complete the fast bowling lineup. Reddy, the only pace-bowling, all-rounder, is available for the five match series. Shardul Thakur has been dropped from the squad due to Hardik Pandya's absence.

Gautam Gambhir, the coach, expressed his confidence in Reddy during the press conference before departure. He said, "The choice to select Reddy over Shardul was about the future." We have chosen the best team, and we know Nitish's talent. "If given the chance, he'll deliver for us."

India's Predicted XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah (C), Mohammed Siraj

The Rise of Elon Musk: How the Billionaire Startup Founder Went From Being a Major Force in American Politics

At 53, Elon Musk is not only the CEO of several innovative companies, such as Tesla and SpaceX, but has also become a major political force in the incoming Donald Trump administration. Last month, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called tech giant Elon Musk a “superman” after his company xAI created the fastest AI training supercomputer. However, the label is not entirely unfounded. At 53, Musk is not only the CEO of several innovative companies, such as Tesla and SpaceX, but has also become a major political force in the Donald Trump administration.

On Wednesday, as expected, Trump announced that Musk will work with another tech entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), which will aim to cut unnecessary spending. However, this department will not be part of the government.

The event highlights Musk's rise from growing up in a violence- and apartheid-ridden part of South Africa to becoming the richest person in the world and now an influential figure in the US government. He is close to setting a new wealth record that could take his fortune to $335 billion.

However, the vivacious entrepreneur came from humble beginnings before making his mark in Silicon Valley more than 20 years ago. Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Musk had a troubled home life, as his parents divorced when he was just eight years old.

Musk showed entrepreneurial skills at a very young age, such as selling homemade chocolate Easter eggs and creating his first computer game at age 12. However, Musk had a difficult childhood and revealed that he was bullied at school and also had trouble understanding social situations because he has Asperger's syndrome.

"He knew pain early on, but he also knew how to endure it," writes Walter Isaacson, author of the Elon Musk biography.

But Musk's life took a turn when he moved to Canada and then the United States for higher education. He studied economics and physics at the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to study at Stanford University in California, but dropped out and turned to entrepreneurship during the dot-com boom of the 1990s.

Entry into Silicon Valley

He founded two start-ups, including a web software company (Zip2) and an online banking company that later became PayPal. It was sold to eBay in 2002 for $1.5 billion. Even before selling PayPal, Musk had considered his next move, and his goal was to make space flight cheaper.

In early 2002, Musk founded a company called Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, investing $100 million he made from the sale of PayPal. Six years later, he invested his fortune in an electric car startup, Tesla, and became its CEO in 2008.

That same year, Musk nearly declared bankruptcy. But a turning point came in 2009, when SpaceX signed a $1.5 billion contract with NASA and Tesla found new investors. Musk founded and bought several other companies, including OpenAI, SolarCity, and The Boring Company.

In 2017, Musk founded Neuralink, which is developing devices that can be implanted in the human brain. That was also the year he met Trump, although the relationship was brief. Musk decided to join Trump's business advisory board, but later resigned after facing strong opposition.

But the most important acquisition he made came in October 2022, when after months of back-and-forth he bought the social media platform Twitter for $44 billion.

2024: An unforgettable year

2024 has been an unforgettable year for Musk, 53, as he has fathered 11 children from three partners.

In a significant step towards bringing rockets back to full usefulness, SpaceX managed to get its hands on a rocket booster with chopstick-like hands. These mechanical hands are designed to hold the rocket with pincer-like grips as it descends to the launch pad.

SpaceX is also tasked with bringing back NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) for 100 days longer than scheduled.

While Musk has cemented his role from a technological perspective, it remains to be seen what impact he will have on the Trump administration.

Delhi Gas Chamber: Dense fog diverts flights, air quality in 'very poor' category

Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi: Aya Nagar, Anand Vihar and Delhi University's North Campus recorded the worst air quality in the city, where the Air Quality Index (AQI) went above 400 on Wednesday, which falls in the 'severe' category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Delhi's air quality fell into the 'very poor' category on Wednesday morning, and a thick layer of fog engulfed the city. The Indira Gandhi International Airport diverted some flights headed to Delhi due to poor visibility.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog started forming around 5:30 am, which led to poor visibility across the city. The Air Quality Index (AQI) rose from 316 on Tuesday evening to 370 on Wednesday morning. Many areas of Delhi recorded AQI above 300.

Aya Nagar, Anand Vihar and Delhi University's North Campus recorded the worst air quality, where the AQI crossed 400, which falls in the severe category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Other areas whose AQI was above 300 included Anand Vihar (396), Jahangirpuri (389), ITO (378) and IGI Airport (368).

Delhi's 24-hour average AQI was recorded at 361 at 8 am on Tuesday.

Visibility in Delhi is likely to clear by noon, helped by low-altitude surface winds and urban heat island effect. However, visibility in parts of Punjab and Haryana is likely to remain poor till afternoon. Visibility has already improved to 400 metres in some areas of Delhi, such as Safdarjung.

Visual reports from several parts showed that visibility dropped to almost zero, and vehicles were seen using fog lights on the roads.

Indira Gandhi International Airport issued an advisory, stating that flights not CAT III compliant may be affected due to the fog.

"Landings and take-offs are continuing at Delhi airport, but flights that are not CAT III compliant may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the respective airline for updated flight information. We regret any inconvenience caused."

Visuals from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway also showed reports of almost zero visibility in the region.

One of the main reasons for this dense fog is the presence of dense smoke in the atmosphere. This smoke, combined with dust particles, acts as a nucleation site for water vapour, which helps in the formation of dense fog and reduces visibility rapidly, especially at ground level.
